SUMMARY:Mayor of Gravesham’s Boundary Walk
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe walk “Beating the Bounds” will be taking place over two days – Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th October 2026. You can choose to join for one or both days or a section of any day\, find locations on what 3 words (in brackets) \nDay one starts at 9am at Ebbsfleet United FC and ends at the Lion Public house and Restaurant at Luddesdown. \nDay two starts at the Lion at Luddesdown and ends at the Ship and Lobster Public House on the south bank of the river Thames. \nHow to take part\nIf you would like to take part\, email [mayorscharity@gravesham.gov.uk] with your name and the names of anyone who will be joining you. \nA sponsorship form will be emailed to you following your request\, the sponsorship raised would be greatly appreciated for the three charities which are:    \nEllenor\,  Elliot Holmes Memorial Fund\, and Waterside Parents Centre. \nStart and end points \nSaturday 10th October \nStart: Ebbsfleet United Football Club\, Stonebridge Rd Northfleet DA11 9GN \nEnd: The Lion Pub\, Luddesdown Road\, Luddesdown\, DA13 0XE \nSunday 11th October \nStart: The Lion Pub\, Luddesdown Road\, Luddesdown\, DA13 0XE \nEnd: The Ship and Lobster Pub\, Mark Lane Gravesend DA12 2QB \n  \nTransport \nOn Saturday morning\, if you would like to book transport there are two pickup locations available. \n\nThe Lion Luddesdown – 8:15am\n\nThe Lion Pub\, Luddesdown Road\, Luddesdown\, DA13 0XE\n\n\nCivic Centre – 8:40am\n\nWindmill Street\, Gravesend\, DA12 1AU\n\n\n\nOn Sunday morning\, transport is only available from Civic Centre. \n\nCivic Centre – 09:00am\n\nWindmill Street\, Gravesend\, DA12 1AU\n\n\n\nThere is no transport available at the end of either day. \nFull itinerary\nSaturday 10th October \n08:15 – Bus leaves Lion\, Luddesdown and heads to civic centre. Cars can be left in the Lion car park as this is where todays walk ends \n08:40 – Bus leaves Civic Centre going to Ebbsfleet United Football Club \n09:00 – Breakfast at Ebbsfleet Football Club. \n09:30 The walk begins going via Thames Way \n10:00 – Post ceremony on Hall Road bridge over A2. What 3 words.( quiz.brings.complains.) \n11:00/11:15 – Downs Road/Walnut Hill (lands.edits.nation) \n11:30 – 20 mins comfort stop at “Green Man” Longfield (lake.quick.march) \n12:45 – Idleigh Court \n13:30 – Clads House (lions.fish.fingernails) \n14:00 – 45 mins lunch Break – “The Villager” at Vigo (lows.king.jabs) \n15:30 – Poundgate \n16:00 – Great Buckland (note.loss.verbs) \n16:30 – End of day one and refreshments at the Lion at Luddesdown (edges.wage.judges). \nThere is no transport back to Gravesend so if you didn’t park in the Lion car park in the morning you will need to organise your own transport home. \nSunday 11th October \n09:00 – Bus leaves civic centre and heads to The Lion at Luddesdown \n09:30 – Start day two – The Lion at Luddesdown (edges.wage.judges) \n11:15 – Three Crutches Old Watling street\, (shops.asking.bake) 20 mins comfort break. \n12:45 – Higham Congregational Church\, School Lane – Light lunch provided by the Church \n15:15 – The Ship and Lobster Public House – Refreshments and the End (about 16 miles) \nYou will need to organise your own transport home \nCost: Free (Sponsorship or Donation required) \nBooking and transport form – Download\nSponsorship form – Download \n\nPlease note: This is a third party event organised by The Mayor of Gravesham with proceeds going to Ellenor\, Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund and Waterside Parents Centre.
