Hello, my name is Gemma and I am a fully qualified counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor providing supervision, training and support to counsellors, students and others in the helping professions.
I am an experienced counsellor having worked with people of all ages in a number of settings including GP surgeries/medicals centres, schools, alternative education settings and in private practice. I have especially gained a great deal of experience working with young people aged 11-18 over the past ten years.
I will provide a supportive, non-judgmental environment, in which you will be given time and space to understand and gain insight into what is troubling you. This process can foster growth and lead to positive change in your life. Working collaboratively to explore your feelings and the experiences that you bring, will aid in finding a clearer perspective, working towards positive change, personal growth and healing.
We will work at a pace to suit your needs. I working relationally with my clients and have humanistic values, whilst my integrative training also gives me the flexibility to draw on a number of theories and approach, to best suit individual need. Sometimes I might introduce ways of working that I feel may be helpful to you.
