We’ve done it! And over £8,000 raised
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund’s epic London to Brighton 55 mile cycling challenge this weekend, our biggest fundraising event to date. Thank you to the cycling team for the preparation; the additional personal expenses you paid; your individual fundraising efforts; the support from your partners; and for the sacrifices you all made for the training to compete in this event.
The reward? Simply to know that the money raised (£8,000+) will go directly to fund mental health counselling for at least 16 young people in Gravesham struggling with their mental health – this could be life changing for many of them.
A real team effort and we finished the day without incident – apart from a few weary legs and six who couldn’t find the strength to go the extra mile and down a pint at The Ship at the evening celebration!
A few sponsors whose valued input helped make the event a brilliant day. Kent Community Foundation (KCF) – UK for their help with the cycling jerseys. They made us look the part, stand out on the day and get additional publicity. Chris Warden of Move2Clear, who transported the bikes with military precision and timing. To Allisha Coulson of The Ship Inn at Southfleet, who generously laid on the most amazing spread to welcome the team home. And to Glenn Springett of Topbond PLC for his generous donation.
If you’d like to contribute to the team’s effort, you can still make a donation via my sponsor page at:
