2nd Annual Golf Day raises £2,909.25

The 2nd Annual Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund, Texas Scramble golf day was held at Redlibbets Golf and Country Club on Friday.

13 teams competed for the Elliott Holmes Memorial Cup. The main competition was tight, with less than four strokes (nett) separating the top 8 team. Third place went to RB doors; in second place was Jolly Boys, losing out to the eventual winners, Four 4 Fore by 0.2 of a stroke.

Nearest the Pins were won by Martin Cork (Seven for one) and Ray Clarke (Faux Pars). The putting competition resulted in three players holing out and going into a play off; Peter Jackaman (Chip and Fails), Peter Jones (Faux Pars) and David Richards (Pest Check), with Peter Jackaman, the eventual winner.

Of, course the real winners on the day are the 6 or 7 young people this golf day will fund. In total we raised £2,909.25, so a big thank you to all the golfers who supported this event.

Thanks also goes to: Robin Whitehead and Shaun Fortune who helped with the setting up and clearing out; to Steve Seath for his tireless support on the desk; and to the staff at Redlibbets who were excellent hosts – and compliments to the Chef, the Chicken curry was superb! Big shout out to the pro at Redlibbets, George Lings, who generously gave up his time to run a ‘Beat the Pro’ on the 8th hole. He raised £280 for our cause. Our sponsors for the event were High Profile, Digital Caddies and Ardvad.
