George’s Karaoke night raises £670

Firstly, thank you to the staff at The Cricketers pub for working incredibly hard and putting in a long shift to make the night go smoothly. The karaoke event was organised by a young man, 16 year old George Sergey, helped by his mum, Alison and Angela Jarrett, for whom we are indebted for both their enthusiasm in organising this event and making it the success it was.

Thanks also to all the businesses and individuals who donated some wonderful raffle prizes, including: Laurain Wallace, Sarah Harding, Balfour Winery, Chris at Morrisons, Whitstable Boat Ships. CycloPark, Meopham Fitness & Leisure Centre, Iron Pier Brewery, Thames River sightseeing, Bronze Inc Salon, Chatham Dockyard, City Wall Wine Bar and Prison Bar Escape Rooms. The raffle contributed significantly to the final amount raised. A special mention and thanks to the person who made a £100 donation on the night.

George Sergey said: “I was really happy to get invoved with the EHMF and organise this event. As many know, this was the first event I have organised and pleased to see so much support on the night. Also pleased to see the Mayor and Mayoress not only attend, but get up and join in with the fun.”

Peter Scutts from EHMF commented, “Due to a previous committment that evening, sadly both Kerry and myself could not attend. Such a fantastic contribution from George. I have had so many people contact me directly to say, what a great night!”
