Kent Fire and Rescue continue their valued support

Thames-Side Station’s dedicated crews continue to make a significant impact both on and off duty, actively engaging with the community across Westerham and Gravesend. Over six dates, firefighters provided valuable winter fire safety advice to hundreds of residents and organised charity street collections. Their efforts have yielded incredible results, raising a total of £1,471.70. Of this, £750.56 was donated to The Firefighters Charity, and £721.14 to the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund.

These recent activities build on a year of impressive fundraising for the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund. In June, a team of 12 firefighters from Thames-Side Station conquered the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising £3,710. Last year, they also contributed £1,000 with a Christmas town centre collection.

For a second year, we’ve been honoured by their unwavering support. Their collective fundraising efforts now exceed £5,400, enough to support at least 13 young people in Gravesham through vital counselling services.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the entire Thames-Side Station team for their extraordinary dedication and generosity.
