St John’s 6th Form Open Evening support

The directors of Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund (EHMF) were pleased to receive an invitation to the 6th Form open evening from the school, to highlight the service that it provides to the young people of Gravesham. Existing and potential students were able to engage with the directors to ascertain how EHMF has supported a number of pupils in the last few years.

For the last four years, the school and EHMF have collaboratively worked together to ensure that access to mental health counselling is timely, free and self-referring.

Speaking on behalf of the school, Sixth Form Pastoral Manager, Lily Thomas said:

“The Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund has made such a meaningful difference to our school community. Its work has had a truly positive impact on the wellbeing & mental health of our students who speak with gratitude about the support & kindness they’ve received”.

To reflect the continuing collaboration, directors Tina Walker & Steve Seath were delighted to receive a cheque for £400 from Headteacher Matt Barron following recent fundraising activities. This amount will enable EHMF to provide a full course of counselling sessions for a student referral.
