Super Cycle Sunday raises over £1,700

Gravesham Community Leisure is the latest organisation to partner with Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund to help raise funds and give young people in Gravesham fast, direct access to mental health counselling.

Super Cycle Sunday is a big annual charity fundraising event, hosted by Cygnet Leisure Centre and supported by members of the Gravesham community, to raise funds and awareness for local charities. This year, 60 spinners endured a three-hour non-stop spinning challenge, spurred on by the Cygnet and Cascades spin instructors.

Head of Operations at GCLL, Wayne Pedrick, said, “With 1 in 5 young people now struggling with their mental health, GCLL were keen for the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund to be benefactors for this year’s event. They are making an impact in Gravesham and we wanted to raise funds to enable them to reach out to more young people.”

The Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund are also working with local secondary schools to reach those young people with more complex issues. In the past 11 months they have referred and funded 52 young people.

The Sunday event at Cygnet Leisure Centre raised over £1,700 and will fund at least three more young people, giving them the opportunity to lead a better quality of life.
