Silver Super Cycle Sunday raises an impressive £2,400
For the third year running, 70 dedicated Spinners teamed up with Cascades, Cygnet and Swanscombe (GCLL) for an unforgettable event in support of the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund (EHMF).
The Silver Super Cycle Sunday, which coincided with GCLL’s 25th Anniversary, raised an impressive £2,400 to help fund mental health counselling for six young people in need. EHMF’s aim is to provide essential support to improve their emotional wellbeing and mental health resilience.
Stephen Wren, CEO of GCLL, commented: “Our vision is to support and improve both Health & Happiness through regular exercise by creating a Fun, and Affordable space for everyone to Get Active and improve their Physical & Mental Wellbeing. We believe that building relationships through fitness fosters a sense of community. The Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund is an ideal fit for us, and by working together, we can complement their invaluable work in the community and play an active role in changing young lives.”
Peter Scutts, Director of EHMF, shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “GCLL adds real value to what we do and has been instrumental in providing a safe, supportive environment for the young people we work with. After counselling, it’s important that they have a safe space to help build their resilience, forge new friendships, and improve their emotional wellbeing. The partnership between GCLL and EHMF is key in helping to create this positive environment for young people to thrive.”
This ongoing partnership between GCLL and EHMF continues to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people across the Gravesham community, empowering them to build stronger emotional foundations and live more fulfilling lives.
