A Big Thank You to Our Incredible Community!
We want to extend our gratitude to the congregations of Christ Church, Gravesend, and St John’s, Higham. Your unwavering support for our cause is making a huge difference in the lives of young people struggling with their mental health.
The impact of Covid on mental health has been devastating, and our youth have felt it the most. Self-harm rates have quadrupled since 2000, and the rise is shocking; up from 6.4% in 2014 to 10.3% in 2024. The hardest hit? Young people aged 16-24, with a staggering 24.6% struggling, and even more so for young women at 31.7%. (Source: NHS England, Adult Psychiatric Morbidity Survey).
Thank you to Jonnie G and the talented band ITU for their continuous support through fundraising gigs that keep the momentum going. And a special thanks to Steve from Palladin Secure, who has generously funded two massive 3-meter vinyl banners to promote our efforts; these will be proudly displayed at our events!
Speaking of events, we’re thrilled to invite you to our Summer Garden Party on August 16th at The Lion in Luddesdown. It’s going to be an afternoon of fun, music (courtesy of Trading Places), and community spirit, all in aid of ensuring no young person in our Borough has to wait to access mental health counselling. The event kicks off at 2pm and runs until 7pm.
See you there!
