A fantastic £990 raised from our Walk for Elliott!
To say we were amazed by the response from the community for our 10k walk, would be an understatement. On Saturday the weather was looking pretty grim, however, Sunday morning 49 out of the 61 registered walkers, wrapped up warm and were greeted by a lovely sunny day! It was great to meet more people from our community and to see families joining in the fun- what a super way to benefit your own wellbeing. Certificates for the walkers will be sent out in the next day or two.
£610 was raised directly by the walkers and another £380 was donated online by those who wished to support the event but couldn’t make it. In total £990 was raised by this event! The feedback so far has been good, with many interested in more walks in the future. Maybe we’ll wait for better weather, we got away with it this time!
To keep you up to date, we have so far raised £4,526 in under 3 months. This will buy 90 counselling sessions and will go towards improving the lives of at least 6 young people – at this rate we we should smash our £7,000 first year target. All being well, we are on target for funding counselling from January 2022. The more we raise the more young people we can help. You can keep track of our progress via our new website, www.ehmf.org.uk. The website also lists mental health therapists in the area, who can help our young people – this is work in progress and will grow over the coming months.
If you are interested helping by in running an event, however small, you can email me, Peter Scutts, at: support@ehmf.org.uk to discuss. If you would still like to donate online, you can via our justgiving page.
We couldn’t do this without the support of the community and local businesses, so thank you to everyone who has come together to support the cause.
