Gravesend Grammar school is on a mission to raise £30,000
Gravesend Grammar school is on a mission to raise £30,000 to support mental health services for young people in Gravesham. This will probably be the largest fundraiser to help young people in Gravesham this year. Every donation makes a difference.
More than 1000 students and staff will be walking 13 miles through the Kent countryside to raise money for the school’s charity, the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund (EHMF) and Gifted Young Gravesham (GYG). As a school, our students directly benefit from the support that these services provide. Both EHMF are entirely funded through donations and provide frontline support to improve the mental health of our students and ultimately reducing the likelihood of them taking their own lives.
GYG provides many activities for young people in Gravesham to encourage healthy lives and increase wellbeing. This youth work gives young people purpose at a time when they need it the most through an incredible array of arts and health workshops.
The Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund provides a self-referral, face-to-face counselling service to young people in Gravesham at the point of need. Mental health referrals can be a long drawn out process lasting sometimes years before professional services are initiated. EHMF have no waiting list, an average time from referral to counsellor of 6 days and have supported over 400 young people since 2022.
Every donation makes a difference. Please support if you can.
