Not all heroes wear capes

For more than 45 years, Terry Lee has been at the heart of Leo’s Red lion Gravesend, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for local and national charities.

Together with his son Aaron, they now raise around £50,000 every year for good causes.

Over the past two years, they have raised more than £10,000 for the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund, including an incredible £5,637 this year alone, enough to help fund counselling for at least 17 young people in Gravesham.

Born and raised in Gravesend, Terry and Aaron have quietly given an enormous amount back to their community, supporting charities including ellenor, North Kent Mind, Alzheimer’s Society, Parkinson’s Foundation, Breast Cancer UK and Help for Heroes, while The Red Lion has also played a huge part in Kent’s live music scene, hosting around 200 bands a year.
