About me and my therapy practice
My name is Nicky Cantwell and I qualified as a counsellor in 2004. After 6 years of private practice, I went on to work in the Student Support office of my local secondary school. During this time, I used my counselling skills to help the Children in Care progress through their secondary education. With 5 years experience working with adolescents, I then took a short break before going back into private practice. As a Registered Member of the BACP, I am bound by the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and their Professional Conduct Procedure.
Here at InMind Counselling, I am passionate about helping others to deal with difficult situations and emotions that may be impacting every day life. I apply an eclectic approach to counselling that allows me to actively listen, whilst you talk openly and confidentially. My aim is to help you to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, loss, unresolved traumas and difficult life events that can be overwhelming.
I offer a safe space to explore these emotions, develop self-awareness and promote emotional wellbeing.
My first session
Making the decision to attend counselling is often daunting and so I offer an initial phone consultation so that I can answer any questions or concerns you may have. If you decide that you would like to continue with some counselling sessions, we can then agree on an appointment time. This time will be yours exclusively and will be your safe space to talk confidentially.
