Annual charity cricket dinner raises £3,443 for EHMF
Thank you to Meopham Cricket Club for holding such a fantastic event in September. The marquee on the green was the perfect setting for 100 guests to sit down to a lovely spread of food (provided by the new nearby Turkish restaurant, Minel) and hear a few tales of his sporting days from Bob ‘the cat’ Beven – he was hilarious!
The event raised a staggering amount of money for both the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund and The Ellenor, with EHMF receiving a donation of £3,443.00. This will provide mental health counselling and help at least another 7 young people in Gravesham. With the latest national figures showing 1 in 5 young people having a probable mental health disorder, affecting so many families, it’s not surprising we are experiencing an increasing number of young people locally. All funds raised by the community are vital to keep this service going and helping the young people of Gravesham.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this a memorable event including: Event sponsors, Wakes Construction; Meopham Cricket Club; Barbara Wade; the organisers and of course all who attended and gave generously on the night.
