Charity Cricket Match in Memory of Elliott Holmes
Wednesday 25th June 2025 – Bat & Ball Ground, Gravesend – 4:00pm- 9:00pm
A special charity cricket match will take place on Wednesday 25th June at the historic Bat & Ball Ground, Gravesend, to mark five years since the passing of Elliott Holmes – a much-loved young man from Istead Rise who tragically took his own life aged just 19.
In Elliott’s memory, his mum Kerry Holmes and stepfather Peter Scutts founded the Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund (EHMF) – a local initiative offering free, fast-access counselling for Gravesham young people aged 13–18. Thanks to community support, EHMF has already supported over 400 young people from Gravesham.
This family-friendly event is being hosted in partnership with Gravesend Cricket Club and Iron Pier Brewery, and will feature a friendly Twenty20-style match between the two organisations.
The event will include:
- A fundraising raffle
- Cake stall & BBQ
- Children’s entertainment
- Iron Pier beers on tap
- Fastrack’s Chatty Bus, promoting conversation, connection, and community wellbeing to help reduce loneliness and isolation
Special guests include the Worshipful Mayor of Gravesham, representatives from the Lord Lieutenant’s office, and the High Sheriff of Kent.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a cricket fan, a mental health advocate, or simply wish to support
Elliott’s family and raise awareness for youth mental health.
Let’s come together to celebrate Elliott’s life, raise vital funds, and support the ongoing work of EHMF.
