Suicide memorial quilt includes Elliott and Tristan from Gravesend
An artwork created in Kent by those who have been bereaved by suicide will be on display at Rochester Cathedral, Garth House between 22nd October and 11th November.
The Kent Speak Their Name memorial quilt was organised by the parents of Stefan Kluibenschadl, from Margate, who died in 2022, aged 15. It was unveiled when the nationwide Baton of Hope suicide awareness tour visiting Rochester, Maidstone, Gillingham, Canterbury and Ramsgate up until 1st April 2026.
Emma Kluibenschadl, Stefan’s mother, said: “It was amazing to see all that hard work come together in this amazing tribute and I’m looking forward to people seeing it across the county.”The quilt was previous on display at the Houses of Parliament. Tristan Kluibenschadl, Stefan’s father, said: “The quilt is not just about remembrance, it’s also a call for action.”
Elliott Holmes and Tristan Taylor, both from Gravesend are represented on the quilt. Kerry and myself will be visiting the display in Rochester on 7th November.
